The Sanctuary Gorilla Forest is the most luxurious property in the North of Bwindi. Occasionally visited by a gorilla family, it is a perfect base for gorilla trekking in both Buhoma and Ruhija Sectors in Northern Bwindi.

Description

Gorilla Forest Camp is a magnificent camp located just on a steep hillside within Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It is the most luxurious property in the north of Bwindi Impenetrable Mational Park and it is managed by Sanctuary Retreats, a travel company managing several lodges in national parks in East and Southern Africa.

The lodge is strategically positioned in an unrivalled location, just inside the gates of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It is located within just a five minutes walk from the Buhoma Office where gorilla trekking commences from.

The beauty of the camp is due to the fact that it was established within the thick rain-forest. It’s next to the park entry well known to be a focal point where gorilla tracking starts from.
The 8 large en suite ‘tents’ with a bathtub looking out onto the forest are ideal after a day searching for gorillas in the forest.

The camp has a bar and dining cottage overlooking the rain-forest. Guests can sit around the campfire at night whilst enjoying the crystal clear mountain sky.
The camp is well designed with high quality facilities along with a breath-taking bathtub that overlooks the rain-forest.

The tents are extremely large with a wooden deck for visitors who may want to relax or experience life privately without interference.

They have a fully stocked bar with a well designed dining area. The cuisine favors both local and international guests from different parts of the world.

Tourist activities at the Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp

Bwindi is famous for its large population of gorillas.With many tourist visiting the park to see these great animals. Apart from the gorillas, there are about 93 mammal species, 11 types of primate along with 350 different species of birds.
