A 5 days (4 Nights) Uganda Safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It starts and finishes in Kampala. The safari takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a world biosphere reserve in Western Uganda. During your safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will have a view of the Pearl of Africa with its game and bird-life. You will go game viewing through different habitats including grasslands, the lakeshore, swamps and wetlands.
Later continue through the Ishasha Sector and link to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the best destination for gorilla trekking in Africa. Get upclose with the mountain gorillas in one of the four sectors of Bwindi. Please note that the availability of the gorilla permits will determine the sector in which you will stay in during your time in Bwindi.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, travel by road from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours (230km) to the reach the park headquarters. This amazing national park is home to an estimate of 68 different species of mammals and popular sightings include Topi, Impala, Zebra, Buffalo, Eland, Roan antelope and leopard, Hyenas and jackals etc. After checking into the lodge, go for a game viewing session in Queen Elizabeth National Park to have a glimpse of the animal and bird life that is found in the park. You will have dinner and an overnight at Bush Lodge or Simba Safari Camp (Budget) / Enganzi Lodge or Park View Lodge (Midrange) / Mweya Safari Lodge or Elephant Plains (Luxury)
Day 2: Game drives and Launch cruise
Early Wake up. Go for a morning game drive through the rich bio-diversity of habitats of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park contains- nearly 100 types of mammal and 600 diverse birds. Some of the wildlife include warthogs, oversized forest hog, buffalo, delightfully horned Uganda Kob, extraordinary aquatic sitatunga antelope, Topi, waterbuck, elephant and leopard. Retire from the game drive for late breakfast and lunch at the lodge. After Lunch, you will have a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects Lakes Edward and George. Kazinga Channel alone is said to contain the world’s largest concentration of hippos and plenty of water birds, but interestingly not enough crocodiles. You will have dinner and an overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Katara Lodge/Enganzi Lodge (FB).
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha Sector. The Ishasha is known for hosting incredible wildlife including the tree climbing lions that hang on the fig trees.
Along the journey, you will come in contact with the country’s famous display of the equator and later having lunch at a stop over in Mbarara town.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
After breakfast, an early start of the mountain gorilla’s trekking through the forest and up the slopes which requires stamina and patience but the first encounter with these mighty animals will be a truly memorable one. This is done by the lead of experienced guides. After spending some time observing these magnificent creatures, you can have a guided nature walk in the forest or relax at the lodge. Day 5: Return to Kampala
After a morning breakfast, retracing your steps through this green and pleasant land. We will return back to Kampala stopping en-route for lunch and arriving in the early evening.
