Gorilla Baby Boom in Bwindi! A fifth new baby has been born in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in just six weeks. The  Rushegura Gorilla Family welcomed a second bouncing cute baby from Ruterana, an adult female in the group.

This has increased the family membership to 18 individuals.

According to the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), the birth takes the tally of new births in the forest to five in just six weeks!

The new born marks Ruterana’s third offspring. Ruterana was born on Jan 1st 2002 making her 18 years of age.
