Bwindi Community Guesthouse is also most popular as Bwindi Community Hospital and was constructed purposely to enhance the health of the local community. The income generated from the guesthouse is invested to maintain the hospital. The finances generated are used to provide support towards the work of doctors, Batwa community, and nursing school.

A total of about 350 species of birds call Bwindi their home and include among others the afep pigeon, Rwenzori nightjars, Kivu ground thrush, African black ducks, pin-tailed whydahs, Neumann’s warblers, African emerald cuckoos, Narina trogon, Shelley’s crimson wing, pied kingfishers, red-fronted barbet, yellow-rumped tinker bird, red-faced barbet, blue-napped mouse bird, western nicator, yellow-fronted canary, and fine-banded woodpeckers.

Other birds in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest include broad-billed rollers, Abyssinian thrush, mountain yellow-warblers, piapiac, red-faced woodland warblers, Cassin’s hawk-eagle, Ayre’s hawk eagle, African green pigeon, African olive pigeon, and buff-throated apalis, etc.

Forest walks
