This luxurious property is perfectly located overlooking the primeval Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Known as the Volcanoes Safaris’ Bwindi Lodge, this is the finest luxury lodge at Bwindi with dramatic intense views of the forest canopy across a serene stream.

The gorillas frequently come to relax in the verdant bush around the lodge! The lodge is perfectly located for a unique Uganda gorilla tracking experience.

The luxury forest lodge in Bwindi now features a redesigned guest lounge and dining area, which bring the feel of the forest into the stylish interiors.

The main living area has a central fireplace which acts as a focal point for guests to relax and discuss their gorilla tracking experience.

A newly designed outdoor terrace gives dramatic views of the impenetrable forest and is a great place to spot the monkeys and birds hidden in the foliage.

The eight individual bandas, each having their own view of the forest, have been been totally restyled with warm luxurious interiors and inviting four poster beds and locally-inspired furniture.

The Forest Spa Humula mw’ Ishamba is open.

The award-winning Bwindi Bar, in the high street of the village nearby is the most stylish and colorful bar in the area!

Guests also enjoy informal tapas style meals inspired by Ugandan dishes at the Award-winning Bwindi Bar, in the local high street. It’s the Harry’s Bar of Bwindi! Guests can even make their ‘Rolex’ wrap. The bar was set up to train disadvantaged local youngsters in hospitality. The lodge has:

  • Eight plaster and timber glass-fronted guest bandas with thatch roofs (six doubles and two twins) reflect the local building style.
  • En-suite shower rooms with flushing toilet, double vanity, and shower with hot and cold running water.
  • Personal butler service for all guests.
  • The Forest Spa Humula mw’ Ishamba – opening in April 2018.
  • Rooms have walk-in mosquito nets, charging stations, hairdryers, and 240v lighting.
  • Bandas are individually named after Bwindi gorillas.

Tourist activities at Volcanoes Bwindi lodge

  • Bird Watching

Experienced bird watchers are known to identify up to 100 species a day in Bwindi. Bwindi contains 90% of all Albertine rift Endemic such as; the Short-tailed Warbler, Rusty-faced woodland Warbler, Bar-tailed Trogon, Gruel’s Rush Warbler, Wilcock’s Honey-guide,

Yellow-eyed black Fly-catcher, Kivu Ground Thrush, Dusky Crimson Wing, White-tailed Blue Monarch among many others, difficult or impossible to see in any other part of East Africa.

You will beautifully see the neighboring villages and the Kibale forest at a distance

  • Community Tour

The Tour actually begins at Bwindi lodge where you walk across the river and around the Community. It can last 2-3 hours. On the Tour you will meet a local healer that will explain the various plants they use for medicinal purposes, you will then walk onto meet a few locals who will show you how they brew alcohol from Banana leaves, and from there you will meet other members of the community including some of the local Batwa tribe.
