The Busingye Gorilla Family is the splitter group from Kahungye in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
The Busingye gorilla group is the newest family to break away from Kahungye which was launched for tracking in 2011. It was suspected that at one time Kahungye would split as it had three silver backs in a bigger group.
The group is estimated to have 9 individuals with 1 silverback.
None the less, this group is located in Rushaga region found in the southern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You can stay at Gorilla Safari Lodge or Kisoro Traveller’s Rest Inn in preparation to meet this group in its natural environment. We shall be updating you about this gorilla Group.
In January 2014, the group was 9 members including 3 infants, 2 adult female and other were youths or young teens. Since 2013, Busingye Group tracking permits are handled at the Bwindi local Uganda Wildlife Authority Office – Rushaga.
