This 4 Days enables you to maximize your time with the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will have two encounters with the mountain gorillas in Bwindi. You will spend 4 hours with the mountain gorillas in Rushaga during the first session. You have a second experience of one hour with a different gorilla family in either Rushaga or Nkuringo.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Pickup from Kigali Airport at 1.00AM. Start Your Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in South Western Uganda. The drive takes about 6 hours. After lunch drive to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The travel takes you past the Virunga Volcanoes, with the great sights of the Uganda – Rwanda Volcanoes. Dinner and Overnight at the Rushaga Haven Lodge (Budget) / Rushaga Gorilla Camp (Midrange) / Chameleon Hill Lodge (Luxury)
Day 2: Gorilla Habituation in Bwindi Forest
Early pickup from the hotel. After early breakfast, the driver will drive you the Rushaga Outpost of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will go with packed lunch. Go for a briefing about the ‘Dos’ and ‘Don’ts’ of the gorilla trekking session you are to take. Guided by park rangers, you will start the hike into the forest to start the search for the mountain gorillas. Gorilla habituation can takes about 5-8 hours depending on the movements of the gorilla family that you will be assigned to track. Gorilla Tracking involves walking up steep and densely forested hills before finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation. Upon meeting the great apes, you will stay with these giant apes for 4 hours for observation and photography.
After the gorilla trek, return to the lodge. If time allows go for a cultural tour OR relax at the Lake Mutanda shores. Dinner and Overnight at the Rushaga Haven Lodge (Budget) / Rushaga Gorilla Camp (Midrange) / Chameleon Hill Lodge (Luxury)
Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Go for a second gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This time you will go gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Upon meeting the great apes, you will stay with these giant apes for 1 hour for observation and photography.
If you have energy, take a local community tour. Alternatively, Relax at the lodge. Overnight at Rushaga Haven Lodge (Budget) / Rushaga Gorilla Camp (Midrange) / Chameleon Hill Lodge (Luxury)
Day 4: Travel Back to Kigali
After breakfast, travel back to Kigali
